Since the rainy season is over, we went on a one-night trip to Shinano Town, Nagano Prefecture, where Lake Nojiri is located.
We heard there is a hotel in Madarao Kogen in Shinano Town where dogs can stay with their owners, so we booked it.
Since we visited several tourist attractions, I’ll introduce them in the order in which we visited them.
The very first is the "Obuse Highway Oasis", a service area with three dog runs.
It is near Obuse Parking Area on the Joshinetsu Expressway in Shinano Town.
When you arrive at Obuse Parking Area, you can also use the "Obuse Highway Oasis".
"Highway Oasis" is an area that connects to a service area and a parking area and allows you to use parks, cafes, etc. without leaving the highway.
"Obuse Highway Oasis" has Obuse Comprehensive Park with dog runs, a rest stop, a sports community center, cafes, etc.
When we arrived, it was around noon, so we decided to have lunch first. According to the WEB, "Obuse Highway Oasis" should have a cafe named ICHI cafe where dogs can eat with their owners.
Daddy had thought that the ICHI cafe was not at the highway oasis but inside the rest stop, so it took us a while to find ICHI cafe. ICHI cafe was on the first floor of the Sports Community Center next to the rest stop. At last, we were able to have lunch indoors at ICHI cafe. It seems that you can do bouldering on the 2nd floor of the Sports Community Center, but it would be difficult for dogs.
I was full, so I ran around in a dog run, walked in the park, then returned to my car and drove on the freeway again.
The dog run was named “Obuse Dog Run Square”, and there were three types of dog runs, for small dogs, for medium and large dogs, and for any size dogs.
I'm on the floor of ICHI cafe. ICHI cafe is said to have moved here from a container house in 2015. Before becoming a cafe, there used to be a museum here. Can you feel the museum atmosphere?

I’m climbing the stairs on my own and returning to the parking lot. Chihuahuas are small, so climbing stairs is great exercise.
