（２８８）　Ｍｙ　Ｎｅｗ　Ｌｅａｓｈ

We were on the way home from our usual park walk. When we got in the car and Dad removed my dog collar, the hook broke. The leash couldn’t be used any longer.

It's a big deal because I can't go for a walk without a leash. I'm clever, so I'm O.K. without a leash. However, a dog without a leash is not allowed in the park.

To tell the truth, the leash I had been using was getting old and worn out, so Dad had been looking for a new one for a while.

No matter what kind of clothes I wear, the color black doesn’t clash.

But, the black leash was not available at a big pet shop near our house. Dad seemed to think, "I guess I'll have to order a black one online."

However, since it would be a problem if I couldn't go for a walk the next day, Dad gave up on buying one online.

The leash he ended up buying at the local pet shop was pink on one side and black on the other. So, he was only able to get the long-awaited black leash partly.



①I put on my new leash and started taking a walk.

⑧This is another day. It was a warm day, so I went out without clothes.
