(153) Captain Merci saw Blue Whale

Looking at the lighthouse, I felt like a captain steering my ship heading for the next port. I don't have a good captain like Mark Twain on board, but now the Yacht Navigation System can take his place.

The next port is the roadside station(道の駅) “Wadaura WA・O!". Along the coast, the ship "Merci-Beaucoup" rode the wind. After 30 minutes, I arrived at the next port, rest stop “Wadaura WA・O!", where I was able to meet Mr. Blue Whale.

There was a skeletal specimen of Mr. Blue Whale. WOW!!

The blue whale is the largest animal in the world.

The Chihuahua is the smallest breed of dog in the world.

Before being caught, the blue whale was swimming off the Finmarck region in northern Norway around 1880. Its skeleton came to the Japanese Shimonoseki Aquarium in 2000 from the Tromso University Museum in Norway. Specimens (replicas) were made based on the skeleton. The replicas are said to be in three places: the Shimonoseki Aquarium "Kaikyokan", the Taichicho Whale Museum, and the roadside station “Wadaura WAO!".

It is a male, with an estimated body length of 26m and an estimated weight of 106 tons, whereas I’m 40 cm long and weigh 3 kg.
In other words, Mr. Blue Whale is 65 times as long as I am, and 3.500 times as heavy as I am.

Considering this, I'm a lot thinner than Mr. Blue Whale. I was relieved.

Mr. Blue Whale was swimming in the sea, so he may have gotten swollen by absorbing water.

I think it's better to take a good walk every day so that I can keep healthy.

This is a picture of Mr. Blue Whale and me. Mr. Blue whale was too big to fit in the square photo, so it is a landscape photo.

This is a close-up photo of me. Mr. Blue whale is too big to be fully seen in this photo.
