Kenkyu Gakuen Ekimae Park is a park that has become a test course for the robots which I introduced in "Chapter 239".
Someiyoshino cherry blossoms had already fallen, but I went there to see the Yaezakura (八重桜) in full bloom.
Cherry blossoms are usually pink. The deep pink Kanzan (関山) and the pale pink Fugenzo(普賢象) are also blooming in the park. These two are the most commonly seen Yaezakura.
In this park, rare green Gyoiko (御衣黄) is also planted. In Tsukuba City, you can only find Gyoiko here and in the Forestry and Forest Products Research Institute. In Ibaraki Prefecture, Gyoiko can only be seen in Tsukuba City and Hitachi City.
The park has a sanctuary of Ashihara (reed bed) and many wild birds.
Luckily, I met a kingfisher on the boardwalk.

⑩ I’ve come back to the lawn near Ashihara.
⑪ A thrush (Turdus eunomus) is playing on the lawn.
⑫ A spot-billed duck (Anas zonorhyncha) is also walking on the lawn.
⑬ There is a van (Gallinula chloropus) near the pond.
⑭ Oh, there's something on the boardwalk over the pond.
⑮ It’s a kingfisher (Alcedo atthis).
⑯ When I approached, the kingfisher flew away. The building in the background is the City Hall. The kingfisher went back, so I'm going home now.
