“Lapoppo Namegata Farmers Village” in Namegata City is an experiential agricultural theme park, centered on roasted sweet potatoes that opened in October 2015 on the site of an elementary school that had closed in 2013.
Its "Farm Glamping" started in August 2017.
Besides that, since September 2017, an amphibious bus "Yakiemon-go (焼き右衛門号)" has been cruising around Kitaura (Lake Kita, 北浦).
Here, you’ll find the "Yakiimo (roasted sweet potatoes) Factory Museum,'' a local vegetable market, a local vegetable restaurant, and a ”Hoshiimo Bar.''
※”Hoshiimo” is a Japanese snack made of dried sweet potatoes.
In April 2018, a nursery school called "Yakiimo Nursery School" was opened within the facility for the workers’ children.
It is disappointing that dogs are not allowed on the amphibious bus "Yakiemon-go".
Speaking of an amphibious bus, as an event to expand sales of manner wears(diapers) for dogs, the manufacturer of manner wears held a tour on October 21 and 22, 2023, in which dogs with a diaper were able to ride on an amphibious bus operated by Skybus Tokyo. We realized this after the event. If there is another event, I’d like to participate too.
On this short trip, we also went to Kashima-nada Seaside Park, so I would like to introduce that as well.
① I am at the main gate of the closed elementary school.
② When you enter the main gate, you can see a stone monument.
③ I am in front of his Rapoppo main building.
④ At the entrance, there is a signboard that says "Rapoppo Farm".
⑤ Lapoppo's mascot character “Yakiemon” is located at the entrance.
⑥ You can see two stuffed toys of Yakiemon.
⑦ They sell stuffed toys of Yakiemon.
⑧ They also sell edible roasted sweet potatoes.
⑨ This is the terrace seat where we had lunch. After eating, we’ll take a walk around the old school grounds.

⑬ We’ve come to Kashima-nada Seaside Park.
