Tourists have returned to sightseeing spots as the coronavirus pandemic subsides.

In Japan, Mt. Fuji, the tallest mountain, is very popular.
We went to see Mt. Fuji at Lake Tanuki (田貫湖) before summer vacation to avoid the crowds.

In this chapter, I’ll introduce the scenery of the campsite facing Cottage Village and Lake Tanuki.
In the next chapter, I’ll introduce Mt. Fuji seen from the hotel's observation deck.

① At the entrance of Cottage Village, there is “Lake Tanuki Fureai Shizenjuku (田貫湖ふれあい自然塾)”, where people can learn about nature.

② This is the entrance to “Lake Tanuki Fureai Shizenjuku”. There is a figure in the shape of a “mamedanuki (豆狸)”, or “mameda”. It’s not a raccoon dog but a racoon dog specter. Lake “Tanuki” and a raccoon dog (which is “tanuki” in Japanese) sound the same, so it must be a pun.

③ I am in front of the mamedanuki.

④ This is a photo of “Cottage Village”. We stayed in the cottage on the far right.

⑤ I’m resting on the sofa in the cottage.

⑥ We’ve arrived at the Lake Tanuki campsite.

⑦ I’m looking at the pier.

⑧ This is the pier and Nakanoshima (an island in the lake).

⑨ I’m taking a walk on the shore of Lake Tanuki.

⑩ I’m taking a walk along the shore of Lake Tanuki.

⑪ This is a photo of Nemu tree (Persian silk tree) and a red tent.

⑫ I am in front of a blue tent. Mt. Fuji is in this direction.

⑬ I can’t see Mt. Fuji because of the clouds.(;∀;)
