Ivy is a plant that looks good on brick buildings.

Famous private universities in the United States are called the Ivy League, but the name comes from the fact that many of them have buildings made of brick with ivy that give a sense of history.

Tsukuba, where I live, is both a city of science and a city of research and academics. It is said that many researchers live here.

It would be nice if Tsukuba City also had brick buildings covered with ivy like the Ivy League schools, but there is no such building.

First of all, we rarely see ivy in Tsukuba.

Recently, when I was taking a walk in the park of the Jomon ruins in the neighboring Tsuchiura city, which was introduced in "Chapter 28: Jomon period houses", ivy was growing on a small path about 20 meters long near the parking lot.

In autumn, the ivy is beautifully colored.

There is a fashion trend called the “Ivy Look” where people wear school-branded clothes, like suits, sweat-shirts, etc. Recently, there seems to be the Ivy Look for dogs.

I don't wear the Ivy Look, but when I took a walk on the ivy path, I felt like I was a college student, and I felt a little smarter than usual.

① I’m walking briskly along the ivy path.

②I stopped at the ivy lane.

③I turn around and go to the other side.

④The sun is setting and it’s getting dark.
