(192) Muscovy ducks are bathing

文字数 1,469文字

Muscovy ducks live in the walking park we often go to.

These muscovy ducks are domesticated wild muscovy ducks of the family Anatidae. They have escaped from somewhere and are not wild.

Wikipedia's article on muscovy ducks has a photo of muscovy ducks in Doho Park, but currently no muscovy ducks live in Doho Park.

Among the several parks we visited recently, the only one where muscovy ducks live is this walking park.

The main character this time is not me, but muscovy ducks.

I was surprised to see the muscovy duck I met here bathing with its strange friends, such as a pigeon and a turtle.
When I told Dad, “It’s strange that the muscovy duck bathes with a pigeon and a turtle,” he said, “There used to be a parent muscovy duck and her children here in the old days,'' and he showed me an old photo, so I'll post that, too.

① We came to the walking park.

② I came close to the pond.

③ I found a muscovy duck bathing in the pond

④ Oh, a pigeon is flying and bathing with the muscovy duck!

⑤ Next came a turtle‼

⑥ I was surprised at their bathing, saying, "Today is full of surprises: a muscovy, a pigeon and a turtle!! What a coincidence!”

⑦ A photo of a muscovy duck mother and her children in June 2013. She has five children.

⑧ A photo of a muscovy duck mother and her three children in August 2013. They are different ducks from those in Photo 7. Only the middle child has a different color, so it looks like "the ugly muscovy duckling".
