Tokorozawa Sakura Town is one of Japan's largest pop culture hubs, jointly established by Tokorozawa City and KADOKAWA (which is a Japanese comprehensive entertainment company).
Tokorozawa Sakura Town opened on Nov.6, 2020.

Here, you’ll find “Kadokawa Musashino Museum”, “EJ Anime Hotel”, “Japan Pavilion Hall", “Musashino Reiwa Shrine(武蔵野坐令和神社, むさしのにます うるわしき やまとのみやしろ)” and various shops and restaurants.

Japan Pavilion Hall along with various shops and restaurants are in the main building of Tokorozawa Sakura Town.

Kadokawa Musashino Museum is a landmark of Tokorozawa Sakura Town, and is a cultural complex that combines a library, art gallery and museum.

Tokorozawa Sakura Town was designed by Kuma Kengo, who I introduced in chapter 87.

This museum is shaped like a giant rock, approximately 36 meters high, with 61 triangular exterior walls covered with 20,000 stone slabs. Kuma kengo calls it "the culmination of my stone architecture."

Inside the library section is produced by Matsuoka Seigo (松岡正剛), the museum section by Aramata Hiroshi (荒俣宏), and the art gallery section by Kamino Shingo (神野真吾).

The “Japan Pavilion Hall” has a large hall (which can accommodate 650 people) and a medium hall (which can accommodate 207 people). Outside, there is a large outdoor open space called “Sennin Terrace'' that can accommodate over 1,000 people. Various events can be held in the central plaza.

⑪ In the pond next to the museum is an object created by Nara Yoshitomo (奈良美智). He is a world-famous artist along with Murakami Takashi and Kusama Yayoi, and his works are in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles.

⑫ Nara Yoshitomo is famous for creating children's art that shows challenging eyes. I’m being stared at by this object.

⑬ There are candles for illumination.

⑭ These are Daimajin (giant demon) Statues that appear in Kadokawa Movie's “Yokai Great War series”. Aramata Hiroshi, who produced the museum secton, is also involved in the planning of the Great Yokai War series.
※”Yokai” refers to a Japanese supernatural creature or mythical creature in Japanese folklore.
