Kinu Comprehensive Park(鬼怒総合公園) is a large park located in Joso City (formerly Mitsukaido City).
When we looked at the map, we saw a large pond, so we decided to go there after I took my usual afternoon nap. It took longer than I expected to get there. By the time we arrived, the sun was setting.
The pond was large. But since the sun was setting and it was getting dark, so we didn't go for a walk around the pond.
There seems to be a metasequoia near the pond, but it was dark, so we couldn't really see it.
The Tsukuba Botanical Garden has a row of magnificent Metasequoia(メタセコイア、アケボノスギ) trees, but dogs are not allowed inside.
The places where dogs are allowed and where you can see Metasequoia are Kinu Comprehensive Park, Fukuoka Weir Sakura Park, Shiki-no-Sato Park, University of Tsukuba Campus, Kairakuen Lotus Pond area, and Hitachi Seaside Park and so on. A Metasequoia is a living fossil that dates back to the dinosaur era.
