Starbucks Coffee is a global cafe chain and is a major cafe with the largest number of shops in Japan. Simply put, it's a cafe you can find anywhere in Japan. I heard that there are Starbucks in 83 countries around the world.

Most Starbucks have terrace seats, which is dog friendly.

I was thinking of going to Starbucks coffee before, but I didn't have the opportunity. That’s why I’ve been putting it off until now.

The other day, I finally went to the terrace seats of Starbucks Coffee near Tsukuba Station.

The first Starbucks Coffee opened in Seattle, Washington in 1971.

One of the founders, Mr. Heckler, believed that words starting with the letter "st" were powerful, so the founders made a list of words starting with "st" to find the brand name.

From the list, they chose the name of town “Starbo”, which was located on Mount Rainier in the Cascade Mountains. The name reminds us of Starbuck, a first mate, who appears in Melville's novel "Moby Dick".

Mr. Bowker, one of the founders, said, "The White Whale had nothing to do directly with Starbucks. it was only coincidental that the sound seemed to make sense.”

Starbuck's name is the same as “Starbuck Island”, a coral atoll known for shipwrecks in the Republic of Kiribati in the South Pacific.

”Siren”, a mermaid with two tails, seduced a lot of sailors with her beautiful singing voice, stole their hearts, and shipwrecked them. Based on this story, the founders created the logo with the desire to "enchant passers-by with the scent of coffee."

Some people, however, mistake the logo for the "Statue of Liberty". The logo has been revised several times, but it is also known to be misinterpreted each time.
