（３５３） Ｏｌｄ Ｆｏｌｋ Ｈｏｕｓｅ Ｒｅｓｔａｕｒａｎｔ

Recently, foreign tourists visiting Japan have ignited the popularity of old private houses converted into restaurants (古民家レストラン) and hotels (古民家ホテル). Originally, old houses used wells for water and firewood for cooking.
Dad's mother's house was a farmhouse, not an old folk house, but until Dad was a child, his family used firewood instead of gas. He said that he used firewood to heat the bath in his childhood.
Recently, trendy old houses have been renovated and can use gas, electricity, and water. The exterior looks old, but the interior is air-conditioned and comfortable. There are also construction companies that specialize in renovating old folk houses.
At present, even a popular old folk house doesn't allow dogs except for on terrace seating. However, recently Mom found an old folk house restaurant that is very dog friendly. This restaurant allows only small dogs though.
That is why I was able to go to an old folk house restaurant for the first time.

② This is a photo of the restaurant. There are 6 tables in all. Mom reserved the room at the far end.
③ Mom spread newspaper on the tatami so that I wouldn't get it dirty.
④ There is a “Kabuto” ornament in the room.

⑥ I was in a good mood because I was full.
⑦ After eating, I'm sitting on Mom's lap.
⑧ I walked around the room and am now sitting on a cushion.
⑨ I’m barking at the woman who served the dessert. She said that she had a Chihuahua, too.
⑩ I shared the blueberries with Dad for dessert.
⑪ I’ve found a “jibukuro(地袋)”, a built-in cupboard that is attached to the floor.
⑫ Nothing happens because it is not an automatic door.
⑬ On the way back to the parking lot, we visited the blueberry field adjacent to the old folk house restaurant. The blueberries here are potted.
⑭ We can’t go for a walk because it's raining.
⑮ We had a commemorative photo taken. This concludes our mini trip.
