Don't you think Chihuahuas are just cute and useless dogs?
Chihuahuas

are

the smallest dogs. In Japan, the number of pet owners has increased recently, and it seems that there are more dogs and cats than children under the age of 15. The number of people who keep dogs indoors is increasing, too. The number of small dogs with minis and toys in their names is increasing. Miniature dachshunds and toy poodles are these examples. However, Chihuahuas were small even before small dogs became popular, so there is no dog called “mini Chihuahua”.

In the old days, dogs seemed to hunt with humans. But Chihuahuas are so small that I don't think they were taken to hunt.
Therefore, how Chihuahuas are useful to humans has long been a big question. Looking up the encyclopedia, there is an amusing theory that a human slept with a Chihuahua instead of a hot water bottle when it was cold, and a frightening theory that a Chihuahua was a sacrifice to the gods. But, according to Ms. Merci, these theories overlook Chihuahuas as capable guard dogs.

①A Chihuahua will promptly warn its owner when a stranger approaches their house.
This is the basis of the role of a guard dog, isn't it? When a mailman or courier approaches our house, I bark loudly. I bark before he rings the chime.
The other day, I kept barking all the time while the electrician came and replaced the old air conditioner with a new one. You may think I’d get tired if I do such a thing. No way! Ms.Merci is an excellent guard dog, so I never compromise!!

② When there is an earthquake, a Chihuahua warns its owner quickly.
I was born in 2010. Less than half a year after I came to Mom and Dad's house, the 2011 earthquake struck. At that time as well, I barked before the house shook, saying, "A big earthquake is coming!" Our house shook a lot and the things on the shelves fell off.
Since then, I found that earthquakes are scary. Even if I sleep in the middle of the night, if I notice that an earthquake is coming, I get up, saying, "An earthquake is coming! Be careful."

③ When a Chihuahua’s owners come home, it will welcome them.
Sometimes I am alone, taking charge of our house during Mom and Dad's absence. When they return home, I greet them wagging my tail.

I’m barking toward the front door, saying, “A stranger is coming soon.”

I’m jumping and barking. My front legs are floating.

I'm looking sideways and barking.
