From 1938 to 1947, 431 C58 class steam locomotives (nicknamed Shigohachi) were manufactured.

When we went to “Kuri no Ie" in Kasama City (see chapter 367), we also stopped by “Ishii Children's Park(石井児童公園)” next to the Kasama Civic Gymnasium (笠間市民体育館) to see the steam locomotive on display.

The steam locomotive there was C58-type steam locomotive No.275.

Speaking of which, I remembered that I had seen another steam locomotive when we took a break at the Mibu parking area on our way to Nasu.

From the Mibu parking area, you can go to the adjacent “Tochigi Wanpaku Park”. And a steam locomotive was exhibited near the entrance of the park.
When I took out the pictures, I realized that steam locomotive was C58-type steam locomotive No. 5.

In this chapter, I’ll introduce the C58-type steam locomotives at Ishii Children's Park and Tochigi Wanpaku Park.

Steam locomotives also have license plates similar to those of cars. And the steam locomotive model name and serial number are written like "C58 275".
