The LALA Garden shopping mall in Tsukuba City will be closed this October, so we went there before it disappears.

In Tsukuba city, there are big shopping malls called "iias Tsukuba" and "Aeon Mall Tsukuba". In front of Tsukuba Station, "Tonarie Tsukuba Square" has been opening sequentially since 2021. In addition, there is a Costco here. Therefore, Tsukuba is a fierce battleground for shopping stores.

LALA Garden Tsukuba opened on March 19, 2004, as the second facility of Mitsui Lifestyle Park. Fernando Vasquez, an American mall architect, made the basic design and adopted the European-style cityscape and the vivid colors of the Tuscan region of Italy under the concept of "creating a place where people can naturally gather and relax".

There are 71 stores. It's less than iias Tsukuba's 221 stores, Aeon Mall Tsukuba's 200 stores, and Tonarie Tsukuba Square's 130 stores, but LALA Garden is compact and you can do most of your shopping here without having to walk too much. Furthermore, there are many shops where dogs can go to the entrance, and it is dog friendly.

LALA Garden Tsukuba will be closed because the 20-year fixed-term land lease contract will expire in the spring of 2023. The population of Tsukuba City has been increasing so far, but it seems that even if the fixed-term land lease contract is extended, there is no prospect of profitability in 20 years.

Before the LALA garden is closed, we went there with the intention of taking some commemorative photos. I’ll introduce it in three parts. This time, I ‘d like to introduce the facilities except for Dog Run and LALA Rose Garden.

This is the LALA garden logo. The spiral design makes your eyes dazzle.

This color looks like Toscana. Above the purple grand staircase, it says “Downtown Promenade.”

I climbed a large staircase finished with mosaic tiles. I think this staircase is the most beautiful staircase in Tsukuba city.

This is “BIRDS Place”. A lot of birds may fly to the green area in the back.

This is “Plaza Square”. It looks interesting to climb, but, it says, "Don't go on the stage."
