Nojimazaki Lighthouse is located in Minami Boso City. I had never seen a lighthouse, so we went there to see one.

From ancient times, even in Japan, a device called a night light was used, but the light was weak and it was not visible from a distance.
The first Western-style lighthouse in Japan was built on January 1, 1869 at the Kannonzaki Lighthouse in Kanagawa Prefecture at the entrance of Tokyo Bay, and was lit. Then, on December 18, 1869, a similar lighthouse was built at Nojimazaki in Chiba Prefecture.
In other words, the Nojimazaki Lighthouse is the second oldest lighthouse in Japan. Unfortunately, these two lighthouses were destroyed in the Great Kanto Earthquake. After the earthquake, they were rebuilt.
There are only 16 lighthouses in Japan that tourists can climb, and the Nojimazaki Lighthouse is one of them. However, there seems to be no lighthouse that dogs can climb.
I thought that the lighthouse which dogs are allowed to climb is probably the Inubosaki Lighthouse (犬吠埼灯台), (because “Inubou” means “dogs howl'' in Japanese) but when I researched it, I found that we dogs can’t enter it either. Inubozaki is the name given to it because the wind makes a howling noise during a storm.
I couldn't climb the Nojimazaki Lighthouse, but I enjoyed the area around the lighthouse called “Nojimazaki Park”. It was a park with a good view of the sea and a very pleasant sea breeze, so I felt as if I were a captain.
This was taken in front of Nojimazaki Lighthouse. Dad, who took the picture, was focused on the orientation of the lighthouse and my face. He didn't see the statue on the right. Consequently, it was a mysterious picture with the lighthouse, statue, and me.
Captain Merci is looking at the sea from Nojimazaki Park. The wind is calm, and the waves are small. In this case, the yacht “Merci-Beaucoup” can sail.
