(132) Hitachi Fudoki Hill

Ishioka City appeared in the “Hitachi Kokudo Fudoki (records of the culture and geography of a region)” published in the Nara period, so Ishioka City has a park named after the “Hitachi Kokudo Fudoki”.

The other day we went to see the cherry blossoms at Hitachi Fudoki Hill.
The park has the largest lion’s head in Japan, named after the lion dance of the "Ishioka Festival".

If the dog at Fukifuden in Nakoso no Seki Park in episode 131 were a Heian dog(平安犬), the dog at Hitachi Fudoki Hill would be a Nara dog(奈良犬 Naraken). However, it could be mistaken for Nara prefecture(奈良県 Naraken), so it could be called a Heijo dog(平城犬).

It seems that dogs were pets even in the Nara period, as a wooden tablet with a dog was excavated from the site of Prince Nagaya's mansion. However, it seems that cats were more popular as pets from the Nara to the Heian periods. Maybe it was because there weren't any cat-sized dogs like me at that time.
The cherry-blossom viewing day was a warm day without wind, so I enjoyed it.

I'm in front of the lion's head. Humans look small (#^.^#).

I'm on the teeth of the lion's head.
