There are many parks in Tsukuba city where dogs can walk. But they can’t walk in “Sakura Kotsu Park(さくら交通公園).” The other day, we went there for a walk without realizing it, and were warned not to enter.

“Chuo Park(中央公園)” is the park closest to Tsukuba Station near the Tsukuba Express. Chuo Park is right there when you climb up the A2 exit of Tsukuba Station.

On Google Maps, Chuo Park is described as "a green park with a pond and a rocket", but this rocket needs additional explanation.

When you go up from Exit A2 of Tsukuba Station, you will first see a KOBAN (police box) in front of Tsukuba Station. If you pass in front of this KOBAN, you will reach the entrance of Chuo Park.

In addition to the KOBAN, Tsukuba Expo Center, Tsukuba Bunka Kaikan Arus (Ibaraki Prefectural Tsukuba Art Museum and Tsukuba City Central Library) and Tsukuba Cityia Building are all in the vicinity of Chuo Park.

Chuo Park offers a beautiful view of these surrounding facilities. The rocket, which is located at the Tsukuba Expo Center, is part of the landscape of Chuo Park.

At the entrance of Chuo Park, there is a memorial space for Nobel Prize winners related to Tsukuba City named "Road to the Future", but I will introduce "Road to the Future" next time.

Chuo Park is a wonderful place as you can see in the picture, so if you have time, please visit it.

①This is a photo of the rocket and Expo Center. The Expo Center has exhibits commemorating the 1985 Tsukuba Science Expo and a large planetarium.

②This is the rocket seen from the other side of the pond. The rocket has become part of the landscape in Chuo Park.

③ You can see the fountain in the center of the pond. The building in the background is the Tsukuba Mitsui Building, with a height of 88 meters, which is the tallest building in Tsukuba City and the fifth tallest building in Ibaraki Prefecture.

④ The fountain in the center of the pond shines in the sunlight.

⑤ This is also a photo of the fountain. In the back on the right, you can see a rest house designed to look like it's floating on the pond.

⑥ This is “Sakura Minkaen(さくら民家園).” It's a 200-year-old old folk house, which was relocated to the park.

⑦ This is Tsukuba Cultural Center Arus. The left side is the Tsukuba Museum of Art, and the right side is the Tsukuba City Central Library.

⑧ A red robot is walking in front of the Tsukuba City Central Library. Chuo Park is also included in the special robot zone, so if you are lucky, you can meet robots.
