Every year around Dec. 20th, swans fly to Ottonuma Park which I often go to.

Around Oct. 20th, 2023, we heard the swans flew to Sugonuma(Sugo marsh).

It's surprising that swans flew to Sugonuma two months earlier than their usual trip to Ottonuma. So, we went to Sugonuma to see some swans.

Sugonuma is a marsh located between Bando City and Joso City, Ibaraki Prefecture, and is approximately 5.5 km north to south and 0.4 km east to west. This marsh is divided into Shimonuma in the south, which is filled with water, and Kaminuma in the north, where ponds are dotted within the wetlands.

This time, I went to see the swans at Sugaunuma Fureai Hiroba (Joso City) in Shimonuma and Tenjinyama Park (Bando City) in Kaminuma.

Dogs are allowed in Tenjinyama Park, but are not allowed on the boardwalk along the adjacent Sugonuma. So, I asked Mom to carry me and looked at the swans for a little while. If you are going to see swans with your dog, we recommend Sugonuma Fureai Hiroba.
