The first time I took a break on our computer desk was about a year ago. At that time, while the workers were replacing the gas stove, I kept barking, so Dad moved me to the computer desk where I couldn't see the workers.

In this way, when workers came into our house to replace the fridge, or install the dish washer or air conditioners, the computer desk became a temporary rest area for me.

The situation has changed significantly since July 2023. It has been scorching and humid this summer. We run our air conditioners every day.

Fortunately, there is an electric fan next to the computer desk, and when the fan is on, this area becomes the coolest place in our house. So, when it's sizzling, I'm taking a break on our computer desk or on its chair.

This summer, many local governments and some pharmacies have provided places to escape the heat for free. And the name of the shelters ranges from “cooling shelter”, “heatstroke shelter”, “extreme heat shelter”, “heatstroke prevention shelter”, “cool oasis”, “heat shelter”, to “cool station''. Looking at English Wikipedia, it is called a “cooling center” or a “cooling area”.
