The other day, we visited Sano Premium Outlet Mall, which is said to be the largest outlet mall in the Kanto region.
The Sano Premium Outlet Mall is designed by the same company as the Ami Premium Outlet Mall that I wrote about in episode 128, "Ami Premium Outlet Mall."
This company uses an old American streetscape called "village style" as a motif and designs an area with a plaza and a tower in the center, surrounded by one-story or two-story shops.
Ami Premium Outlet Mall was a cityscape reminiscent of the West Coast of the United States, while Sano Outlet Mall is based on the image of Lancaster, Pennsylvania on the east coast of the United States.
Japanese people aren't familiar with Lancaster, but every American knows Lancaster because it was the capital of the United States for only one day on Sept.27, 1777.
There is an Amish village on the outskirts of Lancaster. An Amish shop in Lancaster is said to be the birthplace of the recent popularity of whoopie pie. This explanation is easily understood by gluttons like me.
Sano Premium Outlet Mall had Halloween decorations, so I’ll mainly focus on the decorations.
On this day, the weather was fine, and the sun was dazzling. My eyes didn't open as wide as they usually do. I wish I had brought my sunglasses with me.
