茶トラ先生？

At first, I thought it was a hallucination.
最初、そら耳だと思った

But soon I recognized it was really someone’s voice.
だけどすぐに、誰かが本当に呼んでいると分かった

Docs’ voice!
それも茶トラ先生の声！

It came from the garden.
庭から聞こえていた

So I went to the garden
それでぼくが庭に出て

and found a young orange tree.
そこにはみかんの苗木が植えてあり

And under it was a half-buried person
その根元に半分埋められた人がいて

saying “Anybody home?”
だれかおらんのかと言っていた

It was Doc!
それは茶トラ先生！

So I rushed up and rescued him.
それでぼくは駆けつけて先生を救出した

An "Orange Mall" shopping bag was around his waist.
オレンジモールのショッピングバッグが腰に巻きついていた

Then, he said,
それから茶トラ先生は言った

“I went to a notary’s office to leave my will.
公証役場に行き、遺言を遺した

Well, I left my will never to sell this house and land.”
この家と土地を決してだれにも売らないということと

“Oh, I know that.”
それ、知ってるよ

“And after I died,
そしてわしが死んだら

I hoped my ashes would be buried under the orange tree in the garden.
わしの遺骨を庭のみかんの木の根元に埋めて欲しいとな

So I went to Orange Mall
それからオレンジモールへ行き

and bought a young orange tree.
みかんの苗木を買い、そこのショッピングバッグに入れて持ち帰り

And I planted and watered it.
そして苗を植え、水をかけた

Then suddenly I found myself buried up to my waist at the base of it.”
そしたら突然、わしは木の根元に腰まで埋まったのだ

“Oh, it is me who buried you
え～、埋めたのはぼくだよ

and Arisa who suggested it!”
そして埋めろって言ったのは妹だよ

“What a terrible thing you have done!”
お前ら、なんという酷いことを！
