茶トラ先生との出会い２

The work lasted for nearly an hour
それは小一時間続いたけれど

but I had no idea what kind of experiment he was doing
一体どんな実験をやってたのやら、さっぱりわかんない

only that it was something ‘scientific’.
ただそれが「科学的だ」ってこと以外


And since then, I became close friends with Doc
そしてそれ以来、ぼくは茶トラ先生と親友になった

and I went to his house sometimes.
そしてぼくは、ちょくちょく遊びに行った

He told me various things especially about science
先生は科学のことなんかいろいろ教えてくれたし

and showed me many kinds of scientific machines,
いろんな科学的な機械も見せてくれた

most of which seemed to me, no more than ‘pile of junk’.
ほとんでガラクタにしか見えなかったけどね


And sometimes he exclaimed,
そしてときどき先生は、興奮気味に言った

“I’ve invented something really tremendous!”
わしは物凄いものを発明したのだぞ！

But usually it was something so mysterious
だけどいつも訳の分からないものばかり

such as ‘Brain Prospective Apparatus’.
たとえば頭脳透視装置とか


But one day, Doc had invented
だけどある日、先生は発明したんだ

somethingreally really tremendous!
本当に物凄いものを！
