So He opened the curtain gently
それから茶トラ先生はそっとカーテンを開け

and looked outside.
外の様子をうかがった

It was dark
外は暗くて

and there seemed to be no one in the laboratory.
実験室には誰もいないようだった

“OK. There is no one here.
しめしめ、だれもおらん

I’m going to the Physical Society meeting
わしは物理学会へ行く予定なのだ

from August 24th. So I’m not here.”
８月２４日から　だから「未来のわし」はおらん

Then we went outside the Machine
それから茶トラ先生はマシンの外に出て

and turned on the light.
明かりをつけた

“But you were expelled
でも茶トラ先生は追放されたんじゃ？

from the Physical Society,
物理学会からだよ

weren’t you, Doc?”

“Only stupid guys expelled me
わしを追放したのはバカたれどもだ

I know that you are a great physicist!”

“It’s quite obvious.”
あたりまえだ！

Then I glanced around
それからぼくは辺りを見回し

and looked at the clock on the wall.
壁の時計を見た

It was just after 8:00 pm.
夜の八時過ぎだった

So I said,
それからぼくは言った

“I’m going home to find out
ぼくは確かめに家へ帰る

the baseball championship results on TV.”
テレビで甲子園決勝戦の結果を見に

Saying so, I went outsidethe laboratory.
そう言って、ぼくは実験室から外に出た
