The next evening, I went to Doc’s laboratory.
次の日の夕方、ぼくは茶トラ先生の実験室へ向かった
“Will she become a doctor?” I asked.
妹は医者になれるかな？
“Certainly she will.”
大丈夫 きっとなれる
“Well, she was studying hard yesterday.”
うん あいつ昨日、勉強がんばってたからね

I guess in the future twenty five years from now or so,
わしが思うに２５年もすれば
she will be a full-fledged physician.”
彼女はいっぱしの医者だろう
“So we are going twenty five years into the future!”
それじゃ、これから２５年後へ行くんだね
“Well yes.
そのつもりだ
By the way, I went to a notary’s office today.”
ところで今日わしは、公証人役場へ行った
“Why? And to do what?”
どうして？ で、何しに
“I went there to leave my will.
遺言をするためだ
"Leave your will? Wow, are you going to die?"
遺言なんて、茶トラ先生死んじゃうの？
"No no, I've just left a will never to sell this house and land.”
そうではなくて、わしが死んだ後、この家と土地をだれにも売らないという遺言を残したのだ
“Why?”
どうして？
“Imagine,
考えてもみろ
this house and land were sold in the future
この家と土地が、未来に誰かに売られ
and an apartment house was built.”
ここにアパートでも建つようなことがあればどうなる
“Wow!”
わお！
“Then, the house was dismantled
この家は解体され
and the wreckers might say
解体業者の連中は言うだろう
'what on earth is this?’

looking at the Time Age Machine
タイムエイジマシンをみたとき
and they will destroy it."
そしてマシンを破壊するだろう
"So what happens if we go to twenty five years into the future?”
じゃ、ぼくらが２５年後の未来に行っている間に、そのようなことになったらどうなるの？
“I can’t imagine.”
わしにも想像できん
“So, you’ve left your will.”
そうか、だから茶トラ先生はこの家を売らないと遺言を残したんだね
Then we decided to go to a day in the afternoon twenty five years into the future by the Machine.
それでぼくらはマシンで、２５年後のある日の午後に行くことにした
Doc said that doctors are relatively free in the afternoon
茶トラ先生の話では、医者というのは午後の方が忙しくないらしい
compared to in the morning in hospitals.
病院では午前中に比べれば
And we got in the Machine with the all the documents.
それからぼくらは、デビルのお母さんの病気についての資料の全てを持ってマシンに入った
And Doc pushed the switches of the Machine.
そして茶トラ先生はマシンを操作した
