茶トラ先生はお医者さん？

“I was interested in physics.
そもそもわしは物理が大好きだった

But my parents wanted me to be a doctor.
だがわしの両親はわしを医者にしたかったようだ

So I entered medical school.”
それでわしは素直に医学部へ入った

“Wanted you to be a doctor?”
ご両親が医者になることを望んでた？

“Well, I once dreamed to be a doctor.”
わしも一度は医者になることを希望したのだ

“Soon after I became a doctor, my parents died.”
わしが医者になってすぐに、両親は死んでしまった

So I could live without working.”
だからわしは、働かなくても食っていけるようになった

だがわしはやり直し、物理学者を目指した

そして大学に入りなおした

新しいスーツを買わなかったし

and instead repaint it again and again
その代わり何度も塗りなおしたし

そしてあのポンコツ自動車！

そうだ　わしは無駄使いは大嫌いだ

だけど茶トラ先生がお医者さんだったなんて、初めて聞いたよ

“Yes. I know something in both of the fields.
だからわしは物理学と医学の両方の領域の知識がある

And it is meaningful for me
それはわしにとっては意味深いものなのだ

to investigate in not only physics but nature.”
物理学のみならず自然現象全体を研究するためには

“So, you invented a ‘Brain Prospective Apparatus’, Doc?”
それで頭脳透視装置を発明したの？
