though it might be synchronized.
シンクロしてるから、年齢は勝手に戻るだろうけれど
And I said good-bye to Arisa and got in.
そして妹にさよならと言ってからマシンに入った
But before I went,
だけどその前に
I had something to ask her.
妹に聞きたいことがあった
“Hey sis, what am ‘I’ doing in this future?”
ねえ、「ぼく」ってここで何してるの？
“Is it OK to tell you?”
それって教えてもいいの？
“According to Doc’s theory, I think it would be OK.”
茶トラ先生の理論によるとＯＫだよ
“But I’m afraid if I let you know you will relax and not work hard.”
だけどそれを知ったら、お兄ちゃん安心して怠けるかもよ
“No problem. I’ll work hard
問題ない！ がんばる
I promise!”
約束する！
“Ok, I tell you.”
わかったわ
“Yes!”
うん！
“You will become a NASA astronaut.”
お兄ちゃんは今、ＮＡＳＡの宇宙飛行士よ
“Wow, cool!”
うわ～ かっこいい！
“And now you are the captain of a Martian base.”
そして今、火星の基地でキャプテンよ
“I’m on Mars!
ぼくが火星！
That’s why I didn’t run into ‘me’ here.”
だからここで鉢合わせしないわけだ
“Yes. And I’m so glad to see you here,
だから私、お兄ちゃんに会えて嬉しかったの
since you seldom come back.”
めったに帰ってこないし
“I see. And great to see you too.
なるほどね それにぼくも、お前に会えて本当に良かった
And… good luck to you, sis!”
それじゃ、元気で！

それからぼくはタイムエイジマシンでぼくの住む時代に戻り、歳にも戻った
and got out.
そしてマシンの外に出た
I was in Doc’s usual laboratory.
そこはいつもの茶トラ先生の実験室だった
And I felt as though he was at my side.
そしてぼくは、先生はすぐそばにいるような気がした
But he couldn’t be here
だけど先生がいるはずがない
because I buried his ashes under the orange tree fifty years in the future.
ぼくたちが先生の骨を５０年後の未来に、あのみかんの木の根元に埋めたのだから
I felt so sad.
だからとても悲しかった
Looking around the laboratory,
実験室を見渡すと
I felt his presence
先生がいるみたいで
and it was so strange.
不思議な感じだった
And I felt as though he was calling me
なんだか先生がぼくを呼んでいるような気がした
and I must be hearing things…
だけど本当に聞こえていた…
“Hey! Anybody home?”
お～い、だれかおらんのか？
