ぼくの家で！！

And looked for my bike.
そしてぼくの自転車を探した

But it was not there.
だけどなかった

So I decided to walk home.
それで歩いて家へ行くことにした


It could be dangerous on the street at night.
夜道は危ないかもしれなかった

I was wondering what would happen if I run into Devil.
デビルに出くわしたらどうしようとも思っていた

But then, there seemed to be no other option,
だけど他に手はなさそうだし

so I walked home looking around carefully.
周りを注意深く見ながら、ぼくは家へと歩いた


While walking, I was thinking
歩きながら考えた

how I was going to watch the news at 9:00pm on TV at home
どうやって家で九時のニュースをテレビで見ようかな♪

and see who won the game.
どこが甲子園大会優勝かって知るために

You might think that I could watch TV at Doc’s house.
みんなはぼくが茶トラ先生の家で、テレビを見ればいいじゃんって、思うかも知れないけれど

But he didn’t have a TV.
茶トラ先生の家にはテレビはないんだ

He says they are “such stupid things!”
テレビはくだらん！とか何とか言っちゃって

I was also wondering on the way
それから道すがら、ぼくは考えた

what I should do if I run into myself at home, who was ‘living’ in August 24th.
８月２４日の、未来の「自分」に鉢合わせしたらどうなる？

But it was quite simple.
でもシンプルに考えることにした

All I needed was to explain to myself
「自分」に状況を説明すればいいだけだ

Anyhow, thinking about various things,
とにかくあれこれ考えているうちに

I approached my house
家に近づいた

to find something so strange.
そしたら家の様子がおかしかった

There were two lanterns
提灯が二つあった

at the gate of my house
家の門のところに

and on both of them had the Japanese kanji
その提灯には漢字で書いてあった

‘To be in mourning’ written on them.
「喪中」って

And there was a desk at the entrance
玄関には机が置いてあり

that seemed to be some kind of reception,
それは受付らしく

and one of my uncles was sitting at it.
そこにぼくのおじさんが座っていた

There was also a crowd of people
たくさんの人々がいて

in the garden and in the house
庭と家の中に

and there was a notice by the desk,
そして机の脇に立て札があった

which read
それにはこう書いてあった

‘Kosuke Suzuki’s’ wake is being held’.

Kosuke Suzuki is my father!
鈴木耕介はぼくのお父さん！

This means that my father was dead!
つまり、お父さん、死んじゃった！
