“But I’m a physicist and the Time Age Machine is completely broken!”
That night, I went to Doc’s laboratory and asked for help. Doc was doing an experiment using radioactive substances, which were easier to obtain in recent east Japan compared to the past. And as soon as I arrived, he put the substances into a box of thick lead.
“Aside from the fact you are a physicist, Devil’s mother is ill and the situation is serious. It might be possible to help his mother as soon as you fix the Time Age Machine!”
“I’ve told you clearly that the Machine is completely broken due to the huge energy flow which occurred while we were going to the future.”
“Completely broken?”
“Precisely.”
“Is it definitely impossible to fix?”
“No!”
“OK. I understand. Then, I’ll fix it.”
“What?”
“I will fix it!!”
So I went to the back of the Machine and looked carefully and found a burnt place, which looked very much like a fuse box. I removed the burnt plastic cover and there was a fuse, which seemed to be blown. So I said,
“Hey Doc, the fuse is blown!”
“What?”
So I showed it to him looking very proud of myself. Then Doc looked surprised a little and fetched a new fuse from somewhere.
So I said, “How many amps?”
“Fifteen.”, then Doc said.
“I guess it’s too small. It should be twenty!”
“Well, you talk big to a great physicist!”
“Aside from you being a great physicist or not, it should be twenty amps. It is quite simple since the capacity was too small!”
“OK. I understand. You are a great physicist too.”
Saying so, Doc fetched a twenty amp fuse and put it into the fuse box. Then the Machine operated quite normally. So I said, “Completely broken, you said. But didn’t you check even a fuse?”
Then, Doc replied, “It is the darkest under the lamp post.”
“What?”
“It’s hard to see what is right under your nose.”
“All right. All right. I understand!”
“Then we can give advice to your friend.”
